Just wanted to check in.
About to go load up the bus with luggage and then go to show call. 2pm show, 4 pm load out, and hopefully on the sleeper bus and on the road by 10pm. Thats a 3am arrival in Philly.
Which may, or may not be friendly territory.
We shall see.

Broadway Cares
3 Blogs in 2 days?!?!?! WHAAAAAAT?!
I know what you're thinking... if they're blogging this much they must want something from us...
Well, you're right!
Please click on the link below to be taken to my Broadway Cares fundraising page. It's all explained on there but basically, with the strike going on in New York, Broadway Cares is losing over $350,000 per week in normal donations during this fundraising period. I know it's the holiday season and many people are limiting their spending or have their own charities that they donate to, so please do not feel obligated to donate.
However, anything that you can contribute is greatly appreciated and TAX DEDUCTABLE!

Rain, Sleet or Snow
The show is loaded into Schenectady. The load out of Charlotte took 4 hours 30 mins. The load in took... 12 hours with a 5 hour advance call. So basically a quick run down of the last few days.
Sunday:
10:00am - Woke up
12:30pm - Show call till 4:00pm
6:00pm - Show call till 9:30pm
9:30 -Load out till 2:00am

4:00am - Van to airport
6:00am - Flight to Washington D.C.

Oh Schenectady!
Well here we are at the Proctor's Theatre in Schenectady... it's a beatiful theatre! They just did a bunch of additions and work on it 2 years ago and it's pretty cool. Also, I am pleasantly surprised at how cute the downtown area around the theatre is. It's a very old-fashioned downtown with cute mom and pop shops and restaurants. Well tonight is opening night... back to work for me!

Riverboat
Tonight/This morning Beth and I traveled across state lines to the Casino Queen. What we thought was a riverboat casino just turned out to be a small little casino of slots and a few tables. Beth ruled over a Video Poker machine at the bar, while i lost to the slots, only to rebound Big Time at the BlackJack table. The experience was a little disapointing as we were expecting a riverboat, but after the tally's came in.. its hard to argue that it was a well spent evening/morning. Time to go to bed now, sleep in and relax for a day off. Monday afternoon at 4, our 4, you 5, unless your Matt Hebert which is your 2, or if you're Sue and Steve... in which case, i have no idea what time it is in Paris. Some of the locals are throwing us a cookout. Should be good times. Tuesday brings laundry and errands. Tata for now

Meet me in St. Louis
Hello one and all. Reporting in live from the Hyatt Regency at Union Station in Downton St. Louis. Im currently in day 2 of recovery from load-out/load-in. Im feeling much better. I think by the end of the next few moves i will have gotten my body used to the grind and will be better prepared.
As for St. Louis, this place is gorgeous. The theatre is beautiful, and old, and full of history as beth has told you. The spot booth is full of shows and names of everything thats come through. I've seen the names of a lot of road people i have worked with so far. The only downside to the spot booth is its distance from the stage. We are 190 feet from the stage, and with the small set we have, it looks like a postage stamp down there. The booth is an open air booth, so we hear all the noise coming from the stage, the pit and the house bouncing up to us. The problem... it's delayed. So i have the show playing in my ear at real time and the "blowback" coming up at me through the opening. Makes for an interesting sound. My spot op's are amazing and really talented and lifers at this. They pick up on everything so quickly.
So i guess i should get into my list of things i promised to post on:
1. The Cochran's and Renoni's take over Toronto
A very good weekend. The Cochran's arrived Friday night and watched me spill beer all over the Wolf & Firkin, when Manny hit his three run game winner against the Angels in the ALDS. The Renoni's (Mom, Dad, Dave and Chrissy(hahahaha shes a Renoni...hahaha)) arrived early Saturday morning. They hung out for the afternoon while i had a matinee, and then we did dinner at a nice italian resturant across from the hotel. They watched the evening performance and had the pleasure of watching it in the company of Bob Saget. Good stuff. Afterwards the Renoni's and Cochran's hung out at the Wolf and Firkin and had a relaxing evening. Sunday I again had a matinee so the Renoni's and Cochran's explored Toronto for the afternoon. That evening Beth and I took them to Barbarians. We enjoyed a great meal, some great wine, great bread and very good desserts. We retired to the hotel where we visited the pool and hot tub for some relaxation. The Renoni's departed for the airport very early that monday morning, and the Cochran's set about their drive home soon after. A good time was had by all.
2. Cleveland during the ALCS and World Series.
I guess the hardest part about being in Cleveland for the ALCS, was the day I arrived. Saturday night was the masacare in the 11th inning. I went to bed fairly late, only to get up at 7:30am to go to a box call at the theatre at 8. We did the show, took a dinner break, during which i went to the Wolf and Firkin and watched some of the Dallas Patriots game. I returned to the theatre and began load out. Load out finished around 12:30am, and we were on a bus at 2am. We started load in in cleveland at 2pm on Monday, and they were pretty relentless on me about the 11th inning whooping. Soon to be followed by the loss in game 3 on monday night. Tuesday night, i booked it out after the show to go to game 4. Upon arriving, the Red Sox promptly gave up 7 runs. This was shortly followed by Back to Back to Back homeruns by Youk, Papi and Manny. Overall a depressing loss. Knowing Game 5 was an all or nothing i went to the bar below our apartments, Scorchers. A great sports bar with alot of beers on tap and really friendly bar staff. I enjoyed the game in the company of some faintly level headed Indians fans. They let me enjoy my game 5 victory. I returned two nights later to enjoy my Game 6 victory. Sunday evening I enjoyed the first 3 innings in the car driving to a family friend of Beth's. In the presence of an Indians fan i got to relish in a game 7 victory that was a nail biter, despite the score.
As for the World Series, Game 1 was a thrill to watch at the bar, with two businessmen from Andover. Game 2 as well. Game 3 i watched at the bar, and after a few drinks decided to go do some packing, only to watch the bullpen almost blow it. I was unable to watch game 4 because i was loading out the show. I got to see 1 pitch - i turned on a tv just in time to see Paps strike out the last guy. And then had to run back downstairs to finish work.
