Sorry for the long time off between posts. Been some late nights of watching the sox and some work calls lately so time to formulate a cohesive post has been lacking. Hopefully I will have a post up during the first week in St. Louis.
Things that will be covered in next weeks lesson:
1. The Cochran's and Renoni's take over Toronto
2. Cleveland during the ALCS and World Series
3. The School Scrabble Championship on ESPN
- Fun fact: ZA is now an official scrabble word, short for Pizza
- Fun fact: AG is now an official scrabble world, short for Agriculture
4. St. Louis, just how saintly will the city be
5. Student loans...really? Ugh
Time to go do some cleaning, some packing and get my life in order. Long 4 days coming up. 2 shows saturday, 2 shows sunday, loadout sunday night/monday morning, flight to St. Louis, load in Monday, Load in Tuesday, Show tuesday night! Crazy.
Over and Out,
Brian

Back in the U.S. of A
Hello all from Cleveland,
I know, i know, not a great place to be at all. But what can ya do? So Before i get into that....
Sunday morning we had a work call at 8:00am to unload a truck of empty boxes and get things organized for loadout. We had show call at 12:30, and finished the show just before 4:00pm. We took an hour for dinner and began loadout at 5:00pm. We did a half hour split dinner at some point. Electrics and sound breaking first, and then carpenters and loaders second. The last truck was packed and closed up shortly before 12:30. So 7 and a half hours to break it all down.
We headed back to the hotel, cleaned up, showered, some people hit the bar, and we all met on the bus for a 2:00am departure. So we climped on to the bus watched some family guy for an hour or so and i climbed into my bottom bunk. A little cold, i fell asleep for a bit, only to be awoken from a command to get up. Staggering from my bunk i tossed on a sweatshirt and went into the lounge where 2 CBP agents were waiting for us. They began to rattle thru names on passports. People slowly came out one by one, bc of the tight quarters its hard for people to get out fast. One of the members of group was sleeping in the back lounge and the command for being awake didnt reach there right away so he was a little behind, and his name was the last to be read, and one of the border agents had no patients and was yelling at us for him to get out there. And threatened to tear the bus apart and go through everything if he didnt get out there. Not a pleasent gentlemen to be dealing with at 3? 4?am not sure what time it was. So then after that 2 minute ordeal i climbed back into bed to enjoy the bumpy and jostling ride to Cleveland. As noted by everyone on the crew, some veterans of the tour bus life, the driver and ride was horrible.
We pulled into cleveland around 7:30am, and i vaguely remember getting the key to my apartment and coming up here and passing out until 11am, grabbed a shower, went out and got lunch and showed up to work an hour early, so i sat around until 2pm, at which point we began loading the set in. Started at 2pm, we wrapped up for the evening at 11pm. we broke until 8am Tuesday morning and we broke the load in crew at 3pm. So not counting meals, it took us 14 to load the show in.
Now, i would write about game 4, but i am tired and i am going to bed.
But i will say this... watching three homeruns get cranked out of the park in a row is a VERY exhilirating thing to watch.
P.s. My apologies for the poor spelling and poor punctuation and poor grammar in this post

Calling All Sleep Doctors
Ok, so im going to lay it on the line.
It's coming up on a week since i last had a good nights sleep. For some reason when work ends each night, i find myself tired. I get home, relax for a few and then when i get into bed, i find myself tossing and turning all night. And when I do fall asleep, it's never for long periods of time. I have tried the following things to help me sleep better.
- different pillows, soft ones, firm ones, tempurpedic ones
- different cover's
- changing the temp on the a/c
- counting sheep
- sleepy time pills
- working out before bed
- showering before bed
- heck after a night at the bar i didnt sleep, so booze isnt working
I am at a loss for things to do. I cant tell if it is a mental thing or a physical thing, because sometimes i toss and turn because i cant get comfortable and sometimes i toss and turn because i just end up laying there thinking about things, work and the like... So i am putting out a call to anyone who reads this, to drop me their advice and tips for how to get some sleep.
Over and out,
Brian

Opening Night Pictures
A late night update
Brian: Hello from high atop the Delta Chelsea in DownTown Toronto. Beth and I have moved up to the 25th floor of the hotel after some changing of rooms to accomadate company needs and are sharing a nice suite. It has a kitchenette, a living room, a bed room, a bathroom and a little hallway.
Beth: And two closets!! So i can be organized and Brian's stuff can get put away so i can't see it laying all over the floor.
Brian: As i was going to say before i was interupted. We also have a nice balcony... But then again, everyone in this hotel does. But ours is bigger because it extends from the living room along the bedroom. Though you can only access it from the living room, there is a window in the bedroom.
Beth: Basically, have a bowling alley outside our hotel room. To quote a company member when describing the balcony: "Its long, skinny and useless." They could at least put a chair out there.
Brian: Hopefully at somepoint in this post, I will be able to complete a thought before the laptop is ripped from my hands. Anyways.............. ;
Beth: NOT TRUE! I asked very nicely for Brian to hit enter twice so i could type a thought. Although this time i did actually rip it out of his hands... oops... anyways... you were saying?
Brian: I dont know whats more entertaining... watching a p.c. user try to type on a Mac, or watching Beth's reaction to what i am writing. Anyway... This past week has been a bit of a blur. We have kept some of you up to date on the happenings, but to review for the rest of you.
Sunday (23rd) we opened the show to outstanding reviews here in Toronto. Afterwards the Presenters threw a party at the theatre for the company. While it was a nice party.... It lacked filling food. Beth and I had spent a portion of the evening chatting with the Lighting Designer, Ken Billington. After the party the three of us set out for a bite to eat and ended up at a steakhouse near the hotel and enjoyed some fantastic garlic bread,
Beth: SO GOOD! I could eat some right now. Mmmmm....
Brian: ^--- I agree with the above statement....2:00am munchies... Anyways.. we also had some great salads, mashed potatoes, onion rings, baked potatoes and a fantastic center cut sirloin. That was quickly followed by a nice 10 hour food coma.
Monday brought a relaxing begining, a nice swim in the hotel pool. P.s. This is where the Delta gets props. On the 2nd floor is the Family Center, including arcade, kids room, and family pool and a tube slide. On the 25th floor there is the adult area... a pool, gym, hot tub and patio/balcony. As you would imagine, the 25th floor is much more relaxing. Our half hour swim was followed by a lovely 1 hour in room massage for 2. Glorious. That was follwed by a 1 hour nap. The nap was followed by a feast. Emmet and Eric (Head Carp and PSM) are two fantastic gentlemen who know how to live it up on the road. They treated us to a dinner at Barbarians, the steak house near the hotel. Arriving at 6pm, we dragged our full bodies out of there shortly after 10pm. After 4 hours of gluttony there was not much to do but slip into yet another food coma.
Sadly the rest of the week was nowhere near as relaxing, but we are on the verge of our weekend now. Unlike normal people, our weekend ranges from End of show on Sunday, to 6:30pm on Tuesday. So with roughly.... 50 hours of freedom, we tend to try and make the most of it. So as the clock approaches 2am on sunday the 30th, bedtime calls. 1 show tomorrow and then Beth is off to bowling with the cast. I however am going to come back, kick back, relax, watch some football, and sleep. Until Monday night at 9pm when I am going to watch the Patriots. Glorious national broadcast.
I would be mistaken if I did not take this time to thank the Baltimore Orioles for their comeback win on Friday evening to beat the Yankees in 10 innings and seal the deal for the Red Sox in the East. Jay Payton triple tied it in the 9th, when a tired Mo blew it for the Yanks and Melvin Mora who bunted with the bases loaded in the 10th to win it. Thank you Gentlemen for your efforts at Fenway South.
Ok. Bed Time. Missing everyone back home, in NYC and all over, where ever you may be reading this(San Diego, Paris, Tampa) It's nice to know we are getting some great mileage out of this.
Beth: Good Night and looking forward to the Cochran/Renoni invasion of Toronto next weekend!
Brian: Guten Nacht!
