Hello from sunny, warm, nice Florida. A fantastic change from the freezing Atlanta.
Small little theatre, so the house is always full. The spot booth is really low, so its a more flat on angle, im not used to. Im used to being really high up and looking down on the stage. Opening night was a great show. Couple understudies on because a bug was going around and got a few sick. The understudies were great. A little tough for me, because i had no idea where they were going! But all is well, it was a good show. Mom C and Dad C roll into town today. I assume they recently landed. I need to go find food, im hungry. So im going to sign off. ttyl

Cold-Lanta!
Hello from frigid Atlanta.....
Arrived monday moring at 7:20am to temperatures around 20degrees..
For the record... no pun intended...Not cool....Not cool at all.
Small stage, big loading door, meant lots and lots of cold air coming on stage, alll day. From 3:00pm till almost 7:00pm the door was open. I loaded in the show in a tshirt, a long sleeve shirt and a sweatshirt. For comparison. I usually spend loadouts in shorts, a t shirt, and a sweat towel.
Towards the end of day 1 of load in. I was working on a downstage tower. Smelt burning metal, like someone was welding. checked all my stuff.. couldnt find anything.... Everything was working just fine.. Begining of day two... we find out that smell was the entire stage left speaker tower frying. So the sound guys had a fun day of scrambling to order parts, and install the house speaker system to use for now. As for the electrics load in and focus, everything went fine. Came home, attempted to nap, got caught up in an A&E court drama special on a bank heist... and well nap time dissapeared.
The show was interesting this evening. Some fun little snafus with communication systems, fire alarms, the whole deal. good times, but nothing stopped the show.
Now its close to 2:12 in the morning. I am wide awake... i think my body hit second gear, right when i should have been going to bed, so i figured a blog, and some banking, some emails, and reading up on politics, sports, and life should get me ready for bed.
As for other things... We are currently in week 2 of 7 one weekers. Fun stuff Back to Florida for two weeks after atlanta, then we make out way back north east. After these one weekers, Beth and i will be flying off to Paris for a week layoff. An enjoyable few days across the ocean away from the tour, and in a new different place. Beth and i are currently learning some french, im re-learning. she has started from scratch.
Im really looking forward to it. Doing some research on stuff to do, how to maximize our stay.
Speaking of our Stay... We will be staying with the lovely Sue and Stephen buckley at their home in Paris. A big thanks to them for their upcoming hospitality.
Well i think it has reached time for sleep.

A new one!
Hello, So i guess its time to put up a new post. My apologies for having lapsed on my attention to the blog. To reap since my last post....
My luggage finally arrived, a day later. Was nice to finally have shoes to wear. Little cold for sandals.
As for the holidays, christmas was wonderful, sleeping in my own bed, some snow on the ground, seeing family. Its amazing how, out here on the road, you end up spending all your time with the same people. In the case of the crew, its the 10 of us, 24/7 practically. Saturday thru Wednesday. Why you might ask? Well, on Saturday you have two shows, in inveitably go to dinner together between shows, and end up at the bar together after. Sunday much the same except, after the 2nd show we load out for 5 hours, and then travel together to the next city. Where we work for another 9 hours together loading in monday, followed by food/dinner/bar time. then tuesday brings another... 8-10 hours together, plus food/dinner/bar time after.
What im getting at here is... being able to spend time with different people, family, friends... its fantastic. A new face is very welcomed i would have to say.
Also while home, i got to a celtics game. Great to see them finally meaning something again!
And i guess i should address those 17-0 patriots. Going to be a crazy game sunday...hopefully i can watch a good chunk of it.... I will be out of the show at 3:45... and back at 5:30.... So i may be sacrificing dinner to sit in my room and watch the game until the last moment possible....
And moving back in time...
Ft. Lauderdale was interesting... unusually cold. Didnt get any time in on the beach like i wanted. But the city was fun, places to go, eat, walk around. On the middle monday, i cashed in my christmas present, and went to get a 90 minute deep tissue massage. Now i should mention, going in i had a cold. going out i was clear as a bell. Great cure. Great relaxation. After she beat the snot out of me. she covered my back and shoulders in bio-freeze... aka icy-hot. Fantastic, every massage should come with that.
So moving forward... after two weeks of ft. lauderdale... we had a 1 show sunday, followed by a nice little 4 hour 15 minute load out. At 8:30, Davison, Randy and myself piled into the car and took off for Tampa, an expected... 4 hour drive. The first portion was thru some nice swamp land. In the day time i guess you can see tons of gators.. but alas, at night we saw nothing.
2 and a half hours into our drive up 75 north... we spotted head lights off to the right facing back down the road. Randy slowed down to the speed limit, as it looked like a cop. As we passed the vehicle we noticed its flashers were on, and then out of the corner of davisons eye, he spotted a flipped over car down off the left, laying on the drivers side door. By the time we realized it was an accident we were well past, and cars had already begun to pull over. Davison called 911 and gave them all the details. We continued on down the road, talking bout accident stories, etc... meanwhile davison had texted our boss emmet who was 20 mins ahead, to let him know what we had seen. 20 miles past the accident, Emmet calls....It was Kevin, the head flyman, who flipped over. We were the car to leave ft. lauderdale, so we swung around and sped back. Of course we are in the boonies so we had to go another 5 miles forward... 25 back to the accident, and then 7 miles past to the get to the nearest exit.. and then back up 75 north to kevin. He was fine. Only a couple scraps from crawling out of the passenger window. He was wearing a seatbelt, air bags deployed, etc. By the time we got there.. emergency crews had been and gone.. and he was fine. So after his car was towed, we tossed his luggage into our car and headed on. He lives in St. Pete, so we dropped him off there and then went to our hotel.
well, time to head up to the booth. More post to come soon

HOME!!!
I'm Home!!! Yaaaaaaaay

Vacation is a grand thing. A warm house, home cooked meal, parents, da puppy, luggage....
oh what, ignore that last part... because i dont have any. because it never made it to providence. Yeah, thats right, Ive got nothing. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR All i have are the socks on my feet, sandals, pants, and a long sleeve shirt. Hope you all like the outfit, because im gunna be in it for a while. Sigh..
But being home is great. Everyone come visit!

Christmas Comes Early
This just in...
Hot off the presses...
Birmingham has been CANCELLED!
What does this mean?
Beth and Brian have an extra week off at Christmas!!!!
We will wrap up here in Cincinnati on the 16th and fly out on the 17th.
As for plans, who knows. Im going to fly home, relax, maybe visit New York people, who knows. But the good news is, We have 2 weeks off!
So we wont be traveling on Christmas Eve, which is amazing.
Dont know what else to write,
Everyone is in a very good mood around here, scurrying to arrange travel, switch plans, kick out subletters, the whole nine yards.
Beth is going to take over writing now, im going to go get a sooooda and head to the booth

Hooraaaaaaaaaaaaaay for 2 weeks off at Christmas! Personally, I am quite thrilled with the thought of 2 weeks off for the holidays. Since i'm already in Ohio, I may consider driving to Cleveland to visit my grandparents and family for a couple days and then fly home from there. (If anyone is reading this in Cleveland - DON'T TELL NANA! I haven't decided yet!) This also means that I will get to spend an extra day in New York before New Years! Whoop-dee-do!
I have to go re-write my to-do list now... Happy Holidays!
