Well here we are about to set off for our last floridian destination. Orlando should be a blast, but we will be sad to bid the warm weather goodbye!
Our week here in Naples has been an interesting one. Many company members were sick and so a lot of our understudies finally got the chance to show off all of their hard work!
However, I think the highlight of the week would definitely be... drumroll please....
MINI-GOLF PROM 2008!
Georgia Engel hosted a mini-golf party for the company. The only rule was that Actors couldnt be paired with other Actors and Crew/Management couldnt be paired with other Crew/Management. Therefore, everyone was scrambling around trying to find a "date" for what soon became known as "golf prom". Almost everyone in the entire company participated in a ridiculously fun evening.
Everyone arrived at mini-golf around 10pm, where myself and my wonderfully amazing party-planning parents were waiting. We had decorated the palm trees with christmas lights, put up a sign that read "Golf Prom 2008" and even had a sparkling alligator pond! (Really, it was a baby pool filled with ice, sodas, and some plastic alligators.) There was tons of food to eat while everyone made their way to Safari Golf and many teams took prom photos underneath the stars.
Some teams even had costumes! There were the Lucky Leprechauns, donning giant leprechaun hats and red beards, the Putting Princesses - an all male team - who wore pink feather boas and crowns and another co-ed team who wore matching dresses! One team even came in very authentic plaid knickers and scottish golf hats.
I was teammates with Tiffany Haas, a swing and the dance captain. We named our team TEAM ONLY CHILD - we also threatened to throw hissy fits if we didnt win. Brian was paired with our very own Drowsy Chaperone, Nancy Opel. They, however, did not come up with a team name. (lame!)
We had a shotgun start, where every team started on a different hole and made their way through the course. You could hear the screams and shouts from all over as people sunk an impressive number of holes in one! At the end of the night, the Putting Princesses CRUSHED the Lucky Leprechauns, however the team who pulled out with the best score was the Styling Conductors - Bob Billig (our conductor) and Deb Parr (our head hairdresser).
All in all, it was a great evening that i'm sure we will be talking about for quite some time!
