Waiting for the first night of tech to start, I felt like blogging a little. Beth is finally in town, and dealing with her cast. We spent the day prepping the stage for tonights dry tech, rechecking trims and the like. My job doesnt really start for another half an hour to an hour from now. The cast is currently getting a backstage tour 5 at a time while they acclimate themselves to the stage and surroundings and where all the hazards are. For example Brian Judd and his automation desk. (see below) Theres plenty to be aware of. The show deck sits 5 inches above the stage floor, so there is a drop off. We have run flat rope light around the entire show deck backstage, and set up run lights. Eric Sprosty, the PSM (Production Stage Manager) is giving the tours. Showing them where drops land, where set pieces are stored, where floor markings are for safe pathways, where props are stored and placed and preset. While some are getting their tour, others are getting their wireless microphones setup. As for the show folk, Randy is surfing the web, Brian Judd is doing some checks on automation, Kevin seems to be strolling, Davison is running around, and Emmit was having fun popping bubblewrap.

Time to head to the spot booth. More another time.
Over and Out
Brian
